Shadowcreek Pack

It was within the dark woods in western Poland the pack now known as Shadowcreek was created. It's a pack of moving dogs, mostly descending from the animal-testing facility known as Shadow-Creek, helping each other to be able to survive. This means, they never settle down in one area, and they are always on the move.

The dogs of Shadow Creek believe in Honesty and Loyalty. They are friendly to those they know and loyal to those they respect. Lying isn't on the board, which means lying is heavily disrespected within the pack. Those found lying WILL face serious consequences.

A Listeners Training

The first 2 months of training are about everything between earth and sky. How the pack works. Their history. Their rules. And most important of all, some basics within the different ranks.

The next month is divided into pieces for the Listeners to spend time within the different ranks. 4 Days for each rank, which means 20 days in total (the ranks are: Healer, Sharpclaw, Mane, Nightwalker and Hunter).

When done, the Listener will have 3 Sunsets to train for themselves, on what they aim to be. For example, if the Listener wishes to become a Sharpclaw, they could train some extra on their fighting skills.

After these days, the Big Test comes, sometimes know as the Assessment. This is when the listener is set up for a test of different kinds (no test is like the other, and it is totally up to the Timberwolf how it shall be designed) which takes a whole day to complete(day and night).

Under the big test, the Timberwolf will analyze, together with one Beta of the Alphas choice, all the choices the Listener makes during the test and then later discuss it with the Council. Together they will come to a conclusion on what rank would fit best to the Listeners abilities that they have shown both during Pre-Training and the Big Test. Later, this will be announced to the Listener, privately by the Beta and they will assign the Listener to their respective new Rank.

The last month of Training takes place in their given Rank where they learn the last things to be able to rank up. This can take from 1-2 months, depending on when the Beta seems the Listener is ready. The Listener is not assigned a new mentor once they move to this stage which means everyone in the given rank are there to teach them.

Good-To-Know Facts

  • On their journeys, they do not travel nonstop from place to place. They usually stay in one place for maximum 2 weeks before moving along. This is to not tire the Nightwalkers(as the travels always is done on the days), but also to not tire pregnant dogs, older dogs or dogs with Puppies.

  • Shadowcreek values 'rank before kin'. Pups are only taken care of by their Mother and Father the first weeks and is then given to the Manes for care. When a dog finally joins a rank officially, they are meant to put the rank before Kin, meaning they shouldn't spend time looking after so called 'kin' when on duty or off duty and they shouldn't value them more than anyone else in the pack.

  • When they are traveling, Nightwalkers shift to be pulling each other on a sleigh or some sort of small carriage that they most likely have stolen from some Human.

  • Shadowcreek eat what they can find, even if it comes from humans. This is because Shadowcreek is a big pack with many members, and as they are travelers, it can take some days before they get enough caught fresh food for everyone. This is why they usually will go into humans towns and get food from there as well.

  • Everyone is addressed to which rank they belong to. For example, if a character are called Melanie and they are a Hunter, they will be addressed as Hunter Melanie(of course not by their friends in normal day-day talk)

  • The Leader and the Betas are known as 'The Council' and makes decisions together.

  • Did you know that the reason why Nightwalkers was created was because Robin'Wing, Shadowcreeks founder, was afraid of the dark?

  • The dogs of Shadowcreek have developed their bodies so that even a Listener can go without food in up to 5 Days. This is so that the Dogs don't starve when there is scarce food

Laws of Shadowcreek

  • The Pack shall be lead by an Alpha, which must be voted on by the rest of the pack and have to have been picked as Beta by the previous Leader

  • The Fate and decisions shall never be decided by one dog only, even if they are the Alpha. The decisions that decides the Packs Future shall be placed in The Councils paws

  • There will be different ranks for different types of skills. There shall be Hunters for the fast and agile, Sharpclaws for the Strong and Ambitious, Healers for those Gifted with Health and Love, Manes for those who are Passionate and Selfless, Nightwalkers for those with Gifted Eyesight in the dark and great Loyalty towards their pack and Timberwolves which will teach out Pups the ways of the Pack and place them within their rightfully place.

  • A dog in training to earn their truthful place in the Pack shall be know as Listeners, and must Listen to the Cunning and Gifted. Their Training shall be divided into 4 parts, Honorary Learning--Heart Finding--Test--Final Gifting. The Test must be discussed with The Council and Training Timberwolf, no other.

  • A Listener cannot start their training until they reach the full age of 6 Months, however, if their Mother desire, a dog can stay a Pup until the age of 10 Months, and thereafter start their training.

  • Lying is Forbidden, and WILL lead to very serious consequences. We honor truth even though it is hurtful

  • When a dog dies, they shall be buried under a non-bare tree, whether it is Summer or Winter.

  • The dogs of Shadowcreek shall never stop walking until their paws have touched every corner of the Earth

she/her

Historical Figures

Rank-Up from Listener
When a Listener ranks-up to their new rank they receive a very special gift from each of their closest friends and family(Only up to 5 though) or in very special occasions, by the Alpha or Betas. These gifts can vary, as it is up to the giver what they chose to give.

Here are some examples of what they could be:

  • Blessing

  • Good Wishing(Most Given)

  • Flower(Second most Given)

  • Herb

  • Other accessory

  • Extra lessons(ex in Fighting)

  • Stone

  • Invitation to eat with them(big deal if it is a Beta that gives the gift)

  • Name Change(Only in very Special Occasions, always given to them by a Beta or Alpha)

  • Day off Duty with Chosen Friend

After this a small event is done where different members of the pack sit on a stone or higher ground and tell stories about the listener when they were younger. It is often about their mischief they would use to do or other events that might be embarrassing for the Listener. This is done to show positivity and show how much the young dog have changed since then and improved.
